Christian Outreach

The Christian Outreach Committee has 5 members. They are:

Karen Guillemette, Chair; Teresa Farrington, Sue Havey, Gladys Keene, Karen Michaud

The Christian Outreach, or Mission Committee is an integral part of our church community. It is through this committee that monies pledged by members are allocated for use in Christian outreach to support our community as well as surrounding communities, our state and world-wide missions.

Special collections are made for mission support when the occasion arises (ie. Haiti relief, hurricane Katrina). Two special collections are made, one is the America for Christ offering in the spring and the World Mission offering in the fall.

For several years, our committee has been collecting items needed for area nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities in the area during holidays. Items donated include soaps, lotions, shampoos, toothbrushes, toothpaste, games, puzzles, playing cards, socks, gloves, hats and other items used by the residents. We have recently included the local psychiatric hospital in our giving. Members of the rehabilitation facilities also receive a birthday card and holiday cards.

Our Mission committee sends contributions to the local food banks, shelter and the Salvation Army.

The Christian Outreach Committee consists of five members to be elected annually. The duties are to raise the awareness of the congregation regarding the use of mission money, make determination for distribution of mission money, publicize and distribute information for special offerings and report quarterly to the church.

When the church receives a thank you letter they are read aloud during church services.
